skyscanner travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #1: Skyscanner

This is our absolute favorite travel app when it comes to planning your trip, and finding cheap flights. Skyscanner is so great because of the option to choose a city-> everywhere, showing you the cheapest places to fly all over the world.

With this tool, you can save an insane amount of money and really expand your traveling opportunities. We feature Skyscanner on many of our travel tips that you can find on our Instagram

Flight Tip: Using Skyscanner you can put from "your city" to "Everywhere". This way you can see which is the cheapest city to fly to. Also, you can check the calendar to see which are the cheapest dates for your destination!

blabla car travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #2: Blabla Car

This app is particularly useful if you are traveling through Europe. Blabla Car is the perfect money saving hack while traveling, because it is much cheaper than other transportation options. It is a travel app for getting from one destination to another, with someone who is also going to that place.

This is great because:

1. you are helping someone pay for their gas

2. you are saving gas and being a more eco-friendly traveler!

3. it is cheaper than almost every bus and train

4. you can meet some really cool people!

All you need to do is put the date and locations, and all of the times along with drivers will come up. You can see reviews of the drivers and pick as you please!

converter travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #3: Converter App

Did it ever happen to you that you visited a new country without checking the currency exchange and by the time you needed to make sure you wouldn’t get ripped off you had no signal to check online?

Well, there are many good converting travel apps in the market that you can download for free to keep with you every time you travel.

The good thing is that many of these apps have different units of conversion, in case you are from a country with a different measurement system. (For example, USA uses feet and inches while Argentina uses the metric system).

maps.me travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #4: Maps.me

This is hands down one of the best travel apps you can use when moving from place to place, especially hiking. You can check out maps from any place in the world! But the best part is that you can download the map to your phone so that you can use it offline.

The app will show you routes by walking, biking, driving or taking public transportation (although we recommend you Google Maps for public transportation. Read below).

Another great feature is that whenever you are connected to WIFI the app will detect where you are and will automatically download the map from that place. This way you don’t have to worry about remembering to download the map every time you change places.

Google Translate travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #5: Google Translate

You may think that because you speak English and it is spoken all over the world you will be fine While that may be true, it can help more to learn even a little of the language of the place in which you are visiting.

People tend to be nicer when you try to speak in their language, and you are definitely less likely to get ripped off. Sometimes you’ll be somewhere where literally no one speaks English (or your language) and the only way to communicate will be this app.

A great plus is that you can talk into the microphone in your language and the audio will come out in the language you want, making it possible to communicate with literally anybody!

Google maps travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #8: Google Maps

Although we already recommended to download maps.me, Google is always a great ally. The main difference between these two apps is that Google is much more precise when you need to visualize a route in public transportation.

It will tell you how to combine between buses, trains and subways, and the best part is that you can even set different starting times and dates to check for traffic.

Another big highlight of Google Maps that we like to use is the 'save' feature. You can make folders and add locations so that you can better plan your travels as they will be pinned on your map.

Waze travel apps

The Best Travel Apps #9: Waze

This app is specifically good for renting a car. It’s not a must, but it does make your day easier. Waze is a community app, meaning that everyone can contribute. You can be alerted if there’s a car accident, if there’s a red light camera, if there’s a police officer stopping cars, etc.

This travel app is very useful when you drive in a city that you don’t know, because we know that speed limits and some other things can be slightly different from country to country.

All Your Travels

in One Book

Transform your travel memories into a unique book, with personalized pages, country by country.

This is the perfect app for those who want to keep track of their expenses with other people. Splitwise allows you to add multiple people into a group for trips, where each person can add what they've paid for.

The app will do the math for you! At the end of the trip you'll be able to know who owes who what, making everything fair and easy. There are so many cool features, like putting expenses at different percentages, or excluding certain members of the group for certain expenses.
