Technology has taken over and (in most cases) it has made our life and travels easier than ever before. Nowadays you can plan and (literally) see the exact locations you are going to visit, attractions you are going to discover and even pre-order the food you will be eating.

This is our absolute favorite travel app when it comes to planning your trip, and finding cheap flights. Skyscanner is so great because of the option to choose a city-> everywhere, showing you the cheapest places to fly all over the world. 

With this tool, you can save an insane amount of money and really expand your traveling opportunities. We feature Skyscanner on many of our travel tips that you can find on our Instagram. 

This app is particularly useful if you are traveling through Europe. Blabla Car is the perfect money saving hack while traveling, because it is much cheaper than other transportation options. It is a travel app for getting from one destination to another, with someone who is also going to that place.

This is great because:

1. you are helping someone pay for their gas

2. you are saving gas and being a more eco-friendly traveler!

3. it is cheaper than almost every bus and train

4. you can meet some really cool people!

All you need to do is put the date and locations, and all of the times along with drivers will come up. You can see reviews of the drivers and pick as you please!

You can search people by age, gender, & location, and check their profiles for compatibility, along with reviews to see how great they really are. It’s free, it’s fun, and you never know what friendships you can build.

Everyone knows what Uber is, but this app is necessary when traveling. The good thing is that it can be used all over the world. If you have an early flight and transportation isn’t running, you’ll definitely save money rather than grabbing a cab.

Also, If you’re low on cash you don’t need to worry because the charge will go straight to your card.

Although we already recommended to download maps.me, Google is always a great ally. The main difference between these two apps is that Google is much more precise when you need to visualize a route in public transportation.

It will tell you how to combine between buses, trains and subways, and the best part is that you can even set different starting times and dates to check for traffic.

Another big highlight of Google Maps that we like to use is the 'save' feature. You can make folders and add locations so that you can better plan your travels as they will be pinned on your map.

This app is specifically good for renting a car. It’s not a must, but it does make your day easier. Waze is a community app, meaning that everyone can contribute. You can be alerted if there’s a car accident, if there’s a red light camera, if there’s a police officer stopping cars, etc.

This travel app is very useful when you drive in a city that you don’t know, because we know that speed limits and some other things can be slightly different from country to country.

This is the perfect app for those who want to keep track of their expenses with other people. Splitwise allows you to add multiple people into a group for trips, where each person can add what they've paid for.

The app will do the math for you! At the end of the trip you'll be able to know who owes who what, making everything fair and easy. There are so many cool features, like putting expenses at different percentages, or excluding certain members of the group for certain expenses.
