Let's start by learning all about what the heck a Korean scalp treatment is, and where you can find one!

 What is a Korean Scalp Treatment?

The viral Korean scalp treatment is a deep-cleansing and rejuvenating treatment designed to improve scalp health, encourage hair growth, and prevent issues like dandruff, excess oil, or thinning hair. The process has several steps aimed directly at each clients' personal scalp issues, and is typically 60-90 minutes.

Seoul has quite a few different salons that offer the viral Korean scalp treatment, you really can't go wrong with your choice. We did a lot of research though, and absolutely loved our experience at Juno Hair in Myeongdong.

It stands out from a few other head spas in Seoul, and we'll share exactly what we loved and why we recommend you trying it too!

Are Korean Hair Treatments Worth it?

If you're looking for truly unique and relaxing beauty treatments in Seoul, then the Korean scalp treatments are a must! But if you suffer from dry scalp, hair loss, or dandruff, then the scalp treatments will be absolutely life-changing. My scalp has never felt so good, and I truly don't know how I'll go on not having one of these readily accessible.

 How Often Should I Get Korean Scalp Treatments Done?

If you're simply looking to visit the head spa for just the experience, then there isn't a necessary amount of times you'll need to go to see results. If you do have any scalp issues, then it's recommended to get Korean scalp treatments once a month.

Trust me, if I could, I'd be having a monthly treatment for sure! But until this site starts bringing in some serious cash, I don't think I'll be able to fly out to Seoul every month (BRB- going to wipe my tears).

Korean Scalp Treatment Options

There are a few different options for Korean scalp treatments in Seoul's Juno Salon, and they depend on the type of scalp you have, as well as how long of a treatment you'd like.

Here are the two different 15-step scalp treatment options:

If you have an oily scalp or don't have serious scalp issues, then you can opt for the Exfoliating scalp treatment, which is W150,000, 10-steps, and 60 minutes in total.

There is also a kids spa, offering a basic 7-step treatment for 40 minutes, and it costs W100,000.

Scalp treatments are like any salon appointment, and due to high demand they definitely require a prior reservation. You can reach out via Instagram or by phone.

He invested in lie-down massage chairs, has incredible views, and his service is unmatched. The employees are professional, fun, and also have great English making it a really tourist-friendly experience!

While there are some varieties in treatments depending on your scalp condition, we're going to share the 15-step scalp treatment we got at Juno Hair, which was the relaxing treatment meant for those with sensitive scalps.

Starting Your Scalp Treatment

As soon as we walked into the salon we were greeted by the friendly staff. Bong Goo brought us over to the window area and had the two girls doing our treatments offer us tea or coffee, along with some local sweets. We enjoyed our drinks with a beautiful view of Seoul - the perfect start to our Korean scalp treatment!

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 1: Scalp Diagnosis

The first step of any scalp treatment in Seoul starts with the diagnosis. It's a small but powerful camera that captures your scalp up close. It's truly a terrifying sight, especially if your scalp isn't in its best state, but pretty awesome to see too!

Once the technician checks out your scalp, they can recommend wihch treatment seems like the right one for you.

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 2: Aroma Breathing

Now it's time to start your treatment! The first part is choosing a scent for your aromatherapy. You'll have the choice of Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Cypress, and Tea Tree oils.

The aroma therapy is so relaxing, and is the perfect way to start the treatment with these essential oils.

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 4: Warm up Massage

Now the oils are off to work! You'll start off with a massage around your neck, and shoulders.

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 5: Steam Treatment

The steam treatment was probably one of the coolest parts of the scalp treatment. A special mask is put around your head and your whole head is steamed to soften the skin on your scalp.

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 6: Scalp Exfoliation

Now that your scalp is softened, it's time to get rid of all of that guck! (aka the dead skin and build up).

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 7: Detox Cleansing

After getting off all of the excess skin and build up, you'll have a full detox on your scalp with specialized cleanser.

Our girls had fun making little ears on us with the foam. They had such cute personalities, and it really made our experience that much more of a good time.

Korean Scalp Treatment Step 8: Waterfall Treatment

Now is time for our absolute favorite part of the Korean scalp treatment in Seoul! This part is what makes Juno Hair (particularly this branch) stand out from the rest.

They have lie-down massage beds that you'll lay on while the mask sits in your hair for around 15 minutes.

Once the mask has set in, you'll have your waterfall treatment, a special faucet with red light therapy.

Next up is a super advanced treatment that uses acoustic shockwaves to promote tissue repair and regeneration by breaking up soft tissue calcifications, enhancing collagen synthesis, and releasing growth factors,

Stem Cell Therapy is one of the most effective way of regenerating cells, and this special serum is an excellent addition to promoting hair growth.

The special conditioner is now applied to re-moisturize your scalp.

After all of the incredible products are used comes the post treatment care. You'll have your hair blown out and styled, leaving you looking fabulous.

The staff also brought me fresh juice and a snack to enjoy while they were finishing up.

Once your hair is styled and ready to go, some finishing products like a cooling spray are used for your scalp, leaving you fresh and ready to leave the salon in your scalp's best state yet.

The Korean scalp treatment in Seoul went viral for a reason - it truly is an innovative and unique addition to the salon industry, and is an excellent way to attack scalp issues, making you feel fresh and rejuvenated.

While it's a pricier treatment, I felt it was well-worth the money, especially with someone who has suffered from many scalp and hair issues.

Doing a Korean scalp treatment is one of the most fun and relaxing things to do in Seoul, and something that I can't recommend enough! Juno Hair was absolutely incredible, with the most amazing staff. We had so much fun there, we loved the views, and left feeling absolutely fabulous.
