Unlike many other places, taxis aren't always just lined up in the main plaza, but you'll have to actually reserve them for reaching further destinations such as the Bay of Pigs or El Nicho Waterfall.

We went to the local taxi stand and the prices were truly extortionate, so we had our host call some drivers he knew and set up a ride for us to go to El Nicho. It took so much time, and really made getting around a bit more stressful, but we were grateful as we ended up saving a bit of money.
