The Logistics of Visiting Villa General Belgrano During Oktoberfest
Now that you know a bit of what Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrano is all about, let’s go over some of the logistics! The first step to enjoying this special celebration is by being prepared, from getting there and knowing where to stay to planning in case there are any unideal alternatives.
✈️ How to Get to Villa General Belgrano
Villa General Belgrano is located about 90 kilometers south of Córdoba City. If you’re flying into the area, Córdoba is the closest major airport, and from there you can continue to Villa General Belgrano by car, bus, or private transfer.
If you’re already traveling around Argentina, you can also reach Villa General Belgrano by long-distance bus from other popular cities. Driving is a fun option if you’re planning to explore the surrounding Calamuchita Valley while you’re there, since there are plenty of beautiful places outside the town worth visiting.
We drove from Buenos Aires, and made some fun stops along the way. The road rules do change throughout the country, so if you’re going to drive, we recommend checking the laws. The drive is easy, but there are lots of speed cameras along the way, and Cordoba requires all drivers to use their head lights at all times of the day.

💡 Cordoba has a very specific law that your headlights must be on while driving, no matter what time of day it is – remember this so you can avoid getting a ticket like we did!
🛌 Where to Stay in Valencia During Las Fallas
If you’re coming specifically for Oktoberfest, staying in Villa General Belgrano is by far the easiest option. You’ll be able to walk around town, enjoy the restaurants and bars, and get to the festival without having to worry about driving after drinking.
The closer you stay to the center of town, the easier it will be to enjoy everything without a car. Accommodation can become expensive and difficult to find as the festival approaches, so this is definitely not a trip where we’d recommend waiting until the last minute to book.
We got a cabin about a 10 minute walk from the center, which was really nice. It has a barbecue, swimming pool, and plenty of room, which was ideal for hanging out and having drinks while getting ready for Oktoberfest.

💡 During Oktoberfest, transportation and accommodations can fill up quickly, so we recommend planning this part of the trip well ahead of time.
🚗 Getting Around Villa General Belgrano During Oktoberfest
Once you’re actually in Villa General Belgrano, walking is the easiest way to get around if you’re staying near the center. The festival brings a lot of people into town, and parking and traffic can be a bit much.
If you’re staying farther away or visiting other towns in the Calamuchita Valley, having a car can be a great idea. Just remember that when you’re in Villa General Belgrano itself you’ll simply be walking everywhere. You’ll want to leave the car parked when you’re heading to Oktoberfest and drinking.

The experience changes throughout the day, and there are several different parts of the celebration happening at once. -both inside and outside the festival grounds.
Here’s a bit more info about the dynamic of Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrano.
☀️ During the Day: Food, Beer, Music & Cultural Performances
During the day, the festival grounds are a mix of food and beer stands, live music, dancing, cultural performances, and people wandering around enjoying the atmosphere.

In town, the streets are lively and people are casually enjoying restaurants, shopping, and live music in the center of town.

🌙 At Night: Concerts, Parties & More Beer
As the sun goes down, Oktoberfest shifts into more of a party atmosphere. The larger concerts take place, people continue drinking and eating, and the festival grounds stay lively late into the night. We honestly wish we went later than we did, because the vibe definitely picked up later (in Argentina nights start later).

We were honestly impressed with just how many portable toilets were available inside the festival grounds. There is a large area separated by men and women. There are dozens of stalls for both genders, with sinks as well. We’d recommend bringing extra tissues and hand sanitizer with you just in case it gets much busier than when we were there.
