Santorini Travel Guide for First-Time Visitors: Safety
Santorini is a very safe island for tourists to visit! The locals are very welcoming and there is little crime on the island.
Please do remember that there are a lot of properties that are private, so always remember to ask for permission rather than trespassing. Also remember that people live here, so keep your tone down early in the mornings, and always respect important sites.
We got special permission to take this photo! Please do not climb on rooftops without getting permission first.
Is it Safe to Travel to Santorini Right Now?
When we planned our trip to Santorini, there were a lot of travel advisories due to a recent volcanic eruption. Because of that, the island was seemingly empty.
We spoke with a lot of locals who found this laughable. The island does have eruptions just across it, and it hardly threatens the island of Santorini.
