An Intro to Experiencing Rain in Valencia

Before diving into all of the different things to do in Valencia when it rains, let's talk a bit about what Valencia's weather is typically like, when it usually rains the most, and what to expect when it rains in Valencia.

🌧 Does Valencia Get A Lot of Rain?

No, Valencia does not get much rain compared to other European cities. It is one of the driest cities in Spain, with most of the year offering clear skies and sunshine. When it does rain, it typically comes in short bursts rather than full days of nonstop rain (although we did experience the other extreme in a very rare occurence).

I have been to Valencia 6 times, and have always had incredible weather year-round. This past year we visited Valencia for Las Fallas, and it was one of the only times in history it has ever rained.

We experienced a few days of rain, and every local was shocked to their very core. It was pretty unlucky, and we had to adjust A LOT of our plans - but that also inspired us to write this post!

📆 What is the Rainiest Month in Valencia, Spain?

October is usually the rainiest month in Valencia, followed by September. Even during these months, rain rarely lasts all day. You can often expect a few hours of showers mixed with sunshine, making it easy to plan indoor activities without losing the entire day.
