If you’ve never been to Puerto Rico before, then taking an Eastern Caribbean cruise is an easy way to experience some of the top highlights of San Juan.
One thing to keep in mind though, is that stops in San Juan typically tend to be shorter than other Caribbean ports. This is because port fees are extremely high in Puerto Rico, and there is only one dock, so there isn’t a ton of room for several cruise ships like Cozumel for example.
While most cruises stop in San Juan, there are a few that end in San Juan. These are typically ones that are repositioning, which happens in Spring or Autumn when ships change their itineraries depending on the season. These cruises are also cheaper than regular round trip ones, which makes it another cool perk of choosing this way of getting to San Juan!
